Housewarming/BBQ Potluck

We bought our house in August, but with moving in and the holidays around the corner, we didn't find a good time to have a housewarming. Therefore, we decided to wait until Spring to have a little something. This past weekend we had a Housewarming/BBQ Potluck and had such a great time. We've only been living in Houston for a year, but we are so blessed to have met such welcoming and wonderful people. Making friends in Houston has really made all the difference, not to mention all of our awesome neighbors.

We decided to have a little fun at our party, so we had the "2011 Delish Dish" contest where guest could enter a favorite dish for a prize. We had four categories; Meat Sweats, Tossed and Mixed, Best Dessert and Burger Warrior. It was fun to see everyone cast their votes at the end. I almost forgot to mention, we had a Margarita Machine at our party and let me tell you, that thing was a HIT!

  1. It seems your blog filtered and then rented a space in my brain. I had a dream last night... I was able to visit you and Steve at your home in Houston. We were so happy to see each other. You gave me a tour through "your" home. I loved it and it was great to be able to be part of one of your homes:) So now I have Mel on the brain like crazy. MISS YOU TONS, MY LOVE/bff/fave suckface!!!

  2. How fun & super creative.

It is refreshing to know the a/c & white picket fences aren't keeping people from meeting their neighbors :)
